The funny things they say...

Tonight while we were eating dinner, Eve bit the inside of her mouth. She responded by saying, "Ow, ow...I eated my face." I just love the way she puts things.

Grace is also known for saying funny things. Tonight while I was singing her her bedtime song she couldn't stop giggling, because she kept whispering to herself the word "belly button." I asked her why she was saying belly button and she answered, "because it's funny!"

Memorial Day Fun

It has been harder and harder to keep up with my blog since I started doing all the book-keeping and billing for Aaron's business. Now that I seem to be getting the hang of it, I hope to be more efficient, get it done quicker, and therefore have a little free time to post things on my blog now and again...we'll see how well I do.

I'm not going to try to fill in all the blanks of what was missed in my 2+ week hiatas, but rather write about the fun we had this past Memorial Day. Aaron took the afternoon off and we joined his family for a fun BBQ/pool party at his brother Brad's (and wife Callen) new home. What a great party backyard they have! It felt like a water park with all the fun "desert island" decor and outdoor speakers. The girls loved splashing around, taking rides on different aunt and uncle's backs, jumping in the pool, playing troll dolls with Grandma, and most of all...the time they got to spend with Daddy (poor Aaron has been having to work so much lately.) It was a nice break from our everyday activities!

I can feel my TEMPERature rising...

As I was getting the girls ready for bed tonight (by myself...Aaron had to work late) I was getting very frustrated. I was so tired and just wanted to get them in bed, but everything was taking so long. To top it off we couldn't find the "silkies" (the girls' security blankets that are a necessity for bedtime) anywhere. I literally searched the whole house for them, meanwhile Eve was crying, "Silky...Silky." After not finding the silkies anywhere, I lost my temper (a phrase which Grace often confuses with temperature.) I told the girls we were just going to forget about the silkies, say prayers and go straight to bed without any book tonight since it was already so late. Grace said the prayer, and in addition to asking Heavenly Father to help her be able to sleep without her silky and find it in the morning, she also asked that He "help Mommy find her Temperature" (because of course I had lost it!) That instantly changed my mood and I was no longer mad...how could I be after such sincerity. After crawling into bed Grace found her silky under her covers and could not stop giggling about how funny that was, and although we have yet to find Eve's silky she was satisfied to take my slip to bed as a replacement. So all and all, everyone went to bed happy...and Mom got her temperature back!
