The girls started school one week ago today. Grace started second grade and Eve kindergarten. They were both excited (but Eve was also very nervous.) After dropping Grace off at her class, Aaron and I both walked Eve over to her classroom. She was extremely clingy so we tried our best to acclimate her by showing her around the room, introducing her to her new teacher and other kids, but none of it prevented the tears that came when we had to say good-bye. I left the room first while Aaron tried to calm her down...it wasn't happening so he gave her a hug and kiss as well and left the room. We stood outside her door for at least five minutes listening to her cry. She was still crying when we left. I knew she would be okay once they got involved in something. When I went to pick her up a few hours later she met me with a big hug and smile and said, "It was the best day ever!" Phew...what a relief!
